As mentioned in a previous post an order was placed with Grainge and Hodder for some of their laser-cut baseboard kits. Delivery time was about two weeks, not that time was a factor and in terms of cost, they represent excellent value for money
These kits are impressively easy to put together, being laser-cut they are made to fit together perfectly. I used generous amounts of wood glue when assembling, wiping off any excess with a damp cloth. Whilst the glue dried, I used masking tape to hold it all together.
The kit does not come with any fasteners so some M6 bolts, washers, and wing nuts were ordered, just to hold everything together,
The layout will be supported on twin slot brackets, with 5 uprights providing the support, although I do have a sixth one available if it needs it, the photo below shows Isca Sidings on the twin slot, although this has all been rearranged since this photo.
This last image shows the three boards that will form the home layout connected and the track planning underway. The building on the left is a quick mock-up made from a polystyrene-like material.
